ASSEMBLING YOUR PC
Computer is a collection of different devices, which should be assembled or connected in a single form to perform as a computer. Assembling must be done carefully so as to avoid unnecessary damage to the system. So assembling is the process of connecting different components in a single form which is later known as Computer. It usually takes time 15 to 20 min.
Materials Required
⦁ Components
⦁ The computer case
⦁ The power supply Unit(SMPS)
⦁ The Motherboard
⦁ The Processor (CPU) with Cooling Fan/Heat Sink
⦁ Storage Devices
⦁ Hard Drives
⦁ Other Storage Devices: Floppy Drive, CD-ROM/CD-RW/DVD
⦁ Cables and Connectors
⦁ IDE and Floppy Drive Cables
⦁ SATA AND SCSI Cables
⦁ Power and panel cables and Connectors
⦁ Memory (RAM)
⦁ Expansion Cards
⦁ Video/Display cards(Not needed if On-board display is available on motherboard)
⦁ Sound cards(Not Needed if on-board sound is available on Motherboard)
⦁ Network cards and Modems
⦁ Other cards(if any u have)
⦁ Other I/O Peripheral Devices: Mouse, Keyboard, Speaker, TV Card, Printer,Scanner,UPS, Other Components (in any) etc.
ASSEMBLING PROCEDURE (IN FAST TRAK)
⦁ Fit the SMPS in Casing (Cabinet)
Screw the SMPS in Casing.
⦁ Wire the panel On/Off switch.
⦁ Fit RAM Chips in Bank 0 and 1 of Ram slot inside the Motherboard.
⦁ Open the lock of CPU socket and fit microprocessor and lock the CPU
⦁ Fit the CPU heat sink fan.
⦁ Match the fitting holes of Motherboard.
⦁ Fit Power supply Connectors (AT/ATX) in Motherboard.
⦁ Fit the Hard Disk in Casing.
⦁ Tight the Screw in Hard Disk.
⦁ Fit the IDE or SATA Cable in Motherboard.
⦁ Fit IDE or SATA Cable in Hard Disk
⦁ Plug the Power Supply socket the Hard disk.
⦁ Fit VGA PORT, COM1, COM2 Port, PS/S Port, Parallel port inside the casing slots (back panel)...
⦁ Fit hard drive LED, power button, Reset button, Speaker on motherboard (Front panel).
⦁ Connect Mouse, Keyboard, VGA, Sound, USB and Printer ports with respective motherboard interface
⦁ Covers of Casing.
⦁ Provide Main Supply to computer.
